Headline Reports for 2/23/2011
Jason Fabery- Croglog News.
Gov. Neil Abercrombie signed same-sex civil unions into law Wednesday, granting gay and lesbian couples the same state rights as married partners. It will start January 1st 2012, becoming the 7th State to approve it. Arguments over civil unions and gay marriage have long divided the state, which nearly became the first in the nation to legalize gay marriage in 1993 because of a state Supreme Court ruling.

BP Oil Spill day 100
April 20th 2010 |
Today July 28th marked the 100th day of the BP oil spill in the gulf the story started April 20th when a ocean riser blew up. It killed 11 people. Then the oil started gushing out into the Gulf of Mexico. BP had tried these attempts to stop it : "Top Hat" "Top Kill" , a cap, and finally a better cap. That on around day 89 no oil leaked in the gulf for the first time since April 19th.
Attacks and anger on BP happened including on the CEO of the British Oil Comany ,Tony Hayword, was ousted from day to day in U.S spill and now being transfered from CEO to a leader at BP Russia. The economic impact may be worse fishers in the gulf had to stop work because of the spill and many other oil workers in the gulf had to quit due to stops on banning of oil drilling. Also due to beaches being closed there was really no one coming to the beaches due to fear of oil. On day 100 we are still waiting for the relief wells to finally happen and stop this all. Most of the oil has been degrading in the water due to natural processes. Scares happend too including 2 tropical storms which gladly did nothing to the oil.
many beaches have been closed due to the spill. |

Breaking News House Votes 224-206 to Approve Rule for Health Care Debate
Mychiller news- The House voted 224-206 Sunday to approve the rules for debate of a massive health insurance overhaul that evidently satisfies few but is viewed by House Democrats as better than no reform.
House Republicans were doing all they could to slow the increasingly inevitable march toward the overhaul and were joined by 28 Democrats who voted with Republicans against the rule, which laid out plans to limit debate.
Two more showdown votes were left -- passage of the Senate bill and then the package of changes to the Senate-passed bill, including deletion of special Medicaid benefits for Nebraska known as the " cornhusker kickback" and other deals made to win Senate support.
President Obama will have to sign the Senate bill into law before any "fixes" bill goes to the Senate under fast-track rules that would enable Democrats to pass it without facing a Republican filibuster. Democrats control 59 of the Senate's 100 seats, one vote shy of the number needed to overcome bill-killing filibusters from a united GOP.
But senators have given no guarantees they will pass the fixes, which are strictly the wishes of House Democrats.

Shame on you : Abc News ?
Abc News paid for an interview with the accused Casey Anthony , the one in court for the murder of her daughter allegedly, they paid $200,000. Something strange to me thought they fired 400 staffers about 2 weeks ago to save money . Though Abc Said :"In August 2008, we licensed exclusive rights to an extensive library of photos and home videos for use by our broadcast platforms, affiliates and international partners," "No use of material was tied to any interview."
The payments were revealed Thursday in an Orange County, Fla., court proceeding, which was concerned with whether Anthony can be declared indigent and thus receive a taxpayer-funded defense.

croglogmychiller persons of the yaer 2009: Journalist of the year
Mychiller Croglog persons of the year2009 as we now turn to talk about Journalist of year that we had to know that this selection was bound to happen. Diane Sawyer is the choice she took the spot as ABC WORLD NEWS primary anchor this month after Charles Gibson retired. She has become the second female to become the main of anchor evening news after Katie Couric on CBS ,who Sawyer is now competing against. To be found ironic that Diane and Couric used to compete in the Morning. She left her morning job at Good Morning America to take the spot. What can be said on how she has changed the news in evening which is going into a different trend with more viewers leaving the evening news for more other things like Cable TV news and the internet. She's the choice for this spot but when we have another journalist for our twitter section coming up. She's going a new path in News and this will be seen as a new idea for a news time that needs something new.

Does a war on Christmas mean?
A special Opinion piece by Mychiller Opinion Writer Mary
As Christmastime nears the time of the year where's there's a fight over Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. Every year you see fights over displays of Navity scenes and word of Christmas or Holidays. Does it really matter? If you celebrate Christmas then Say Merry Christmas. If you want to have a Christmas Scene then you have the right to one. The same point that Someone who celebrates Hanukkah can say Happy Hanukkah and if he says it someone who celebrates Christmas that person can say Happy Hanukkah or Merry Christmas to him. The question is why do we fight every year over Holiday or Christmas or What ever? We should learn use what the season means to have joy, peace on earth. I say Merry Christmas but I don't get all angry over someone who says Happy Holidays to me. It's to much to get into a fight over something so minor. So to say that. Merry Christmas to you.

Wildfire near LA heads north, threatens thousands
Residents of the small town of Acton were urged to evacuate as the 4-day-old blaze headed into the Antelope Valley. The fire spread in all directions, leaving three people burned, destroying at least three homes and forcing thousands to flee.
"The leading edge, the one they're really focused on, is that northern edge. It's moving pretty fast up in that direction," said U.S. Forest Service spokesperson Randi Jorgenson. "But the fire's growing in all directions. All fronts are going to be areas of concern today."

A slight drop in temperatures and an influx of fire crews from around the state were expected to bring some relief Sunday. Some 2,000 firefighters were battling the blaze.
Mandatory evacuations were in effect for neighborhoods in Altadena, Glendale, Pasadena, La Crescenta and Big Tujunga Canyon.

Eddie Bauer files for bankruptcy protection
The clothing retailer had $476.1 million in total assets and $426.7 million in total debt at the time of the filing Wednesday in the United States Bankruptcy Court of the District of Delaware. Some are saying though that the company might be acquired.
Gas Prices on the Rise.
Historically, filling station prices tend to rise during the summer as millions of vacationing Americans pour onto the highways. A surge in crude prices during the past few months and less production from the refiners that make gasoline has added even more pressure on prices. Pump prices added a half cent overnight to a new national average of $2.679 a gallon, according to AAA.

Couple Accused of Spying or Cuba For 30 years
A retired State Department worker and his wife have been arrested on charges of spying for Cuba for 30years , using grocery carts among their array of tools to pass U.S. secrets to the communist government in a security breach. An indictment unsealed Friday ,Myers worked his way into higher and higher U.S. security clearances while secretly partnering with his wife, Gwendolyn Steingraber Myers, as clandestine agents so valued by the Cuban government that they once had a private four-hour meeting with President Fidel Castro. The Myerses' arrest could affect congressional support for easing tensions with Cuba dating back to the Cold War. Two months ago, the Obama administration took steps to relax a trade embargo imposed on the island nation in 1962.

Get some pants on...
I love to take a werid headline of the week and talk about so here
In Ultimate Frisbee, it's ultimately not cool to go without pants. So said a student board that governs club sports at the University of Oregon when it ended a highly-ranked team's season after five players shed their pants and underwear April 11 during sectional play at Oregon State University in Corvallis.
The squad had already been on probation since November for serving alcohol to minors and making way too much noise at a party to end last season, resulting in fines and citations. Now the team, known as EGO (Eugene Gentlemen's Organization) is crying foul.
"We put on the longest shirts we had," pleaded player Kevin Minderhout. "We have some jerseys that are pretty long."
Ultimate Frisbee, which is akin to flag football and is popular as a club sport at numerous universities and high schools, has rules but no referees. Players are responsible for their own foul calls and are to resolve their own disputes.
The sport is non-contact. Points are scored by completing a catch into the opponents' end zone on a court measuring 40 by 70 yards. The Oregon team was considered No. 3 in the nation.
During the April 11 incident, one team went without shirts and five on the other side went without pants and underwear.
Well Okay they have nothing else better to do.
Other story: What is the first part of Pandemic "pan" short for panic? Where they trying to make you panic over the H1N1 VIRUS.
The swine flu virus that has frightened the world is beginning to look a little less ominous. New York City officials reported Friday that the swine flu still has not spread beyond a few schools. In Mexico, very few relatives of flu victims seem to have caught the virus. One flu expert says there's no reason to believe the new virus is a more serious strain than seasonal flu. And a federal health official said the new flu virus doesn't appear to have genes that made the 1918 pandemic flu strain so deadly. But making people panic is not the best way to stop a disease of you are panic breathing you can suck that virus into you because you will be going HUH HUH.
Now here is a triva question
Since we have just ended the "FIRST100DAYS" Period or 4 mothes and 10 days to be more persise. Well in an avearge 4 year term how may days is that for a president?
Think about it you have 20 Seconds.
The answer is 1,460 days celebrate that. See you Sunday

Complaints of government spending have not been listened to by Washington is what they told me was their message. So tell me what you think email us at mychiller@inbox.com

The newspapers vs. the internet
By Samantha I of My chiller money and Henrey V of my chiller spark.
As you know there has been Newspapers shutting down this year or others declare bankruptcy. Well then to say that the business model of the newspaper is not doing well for the past few years. With readers down. Well as it would seem to say that the newspapers have had tough time since the making of radio News. Since the internet has become so popular the newspaper has now had an even tougher break. So then would should been done with these newspapers their future limited and some already gone. As we looked at the internet we see that many parts of it has something that newspaper does not ,current, what I mean is that the newspaper most come in the morning has news considered “OLD”now many newspapers have websites so how could they be doing bad? Because they lose readers and money.
What should the news papers do would it be good for them to be free? Like broadcast TV and expect more from adversters? What is the future we don’t know yet.
